that are used in the field of process automation.
This involves using computer technology

These three control cables are: CY Cables,
SY Cables and YY Cables which are also referred to
as flexible instrumentation cables.
They are designed for use as interconnecting cable in control
and signal equipment for measuring, control and regulation.

Instrumentation cable, robotic cable, motor cable, multi-core cable
and control flex which describes all three.
To confuse things a little further you may also hear these cables referred to as;
 Screened Flexible Cable (CY), Shielded Flex (SY) and Unscreened or Unshielded Control
Cable (YY).

CY Cables –
are used in environments when interference-free transmission is needed.
CY Cables have a multi-core flex, tinned copper wire braid and a PETP separator.
All these components work together to protect the cable from
external electromagnetic influences and mechanical stress.

SY Cables –
the galvanised steel wire braid makes this cable ultra strong
and it is in fact the strongest out of the three control cables mentioned here.
It also offers reliable mechanical protection.

YY Cables –
this cable work well with light mechanical stress
and is suited to most environments. It is a very versatile cable
and can be used outside when protected and also works well in dry
and moist conditions inside.
